The Heart Rhythm Society, incorporated in 1979, has a membership of approximately 4,500 physicians and associated professionals from the United States, Canada, Mexico and many other countries.

The Heart Rhythm Society is the dominant professional group representing the allied specialties of cardiac pacing and cardiac electrophysiology and plays an important role not only in education but also as an intermediary between government regulatory agencies and members of the profession.

About Heart Rhythm Society

We are led by a dedicated staff of over 40 professionals who've joined the Society to fulfill its mission of improving the care of patients by promoting research, education and optimal health care policies and standards. We are driving to become an Employer of Choice in the Washington, DC area. We welcome you to send us your résumé or letter of interest.

HRS is an Equal Opportunity Employer/AA. Employment practices will not be influenced or affected by an applicant's or employee's race, color, religion, sex, national origin, age, disability, veteran's status, or any other characteristic protected by law.

Simply put, we help save lives!

The Society has seen significant growth in the last five years in terms of membership and staff. During that time, a new Strategic Plan has been created and our operating budget has doubled. The six key goals of our Strategic Plan are:

  • To be the international leader in science, education and advocacy for the diagnosis and treatment of cardiac arrhythmias.
  • To recruit and retain members from targeted markets and develop programs and services to meet their needs.
  • To provide year-round scientific and educational programs and services on cardiac arrhythmias.
  • To implement a proactive public health policy agenda.
  • To use strategic alliances to help fulfill the Society’s vision and goals.
  • To implement an efficient and effective organizational infrastructure that supports the goals of the strategic plan.
