Please review the below list of Heart Rhythm Society Recognition Awards, which indicates who is eligible as well as the award's purpose. When nominating a candidate, please include the name of the award in your letter. The deadline for award nominations is Friday, October 14, 2011.

Distinguished Scientist Award

Purpose:

Recognition for an individual who has made major contributions to the advancement of scientific knowledge in the field of cardiac pacing and/or electrophysiology

Eligibility:

Nominees must be members of the Heart Rhythm Society

Frequency:

One award (either clinical or basic); given annually


Distinguished Service Award

Purpose:

Recognition for an individual who has made outstanding contributions to the Heart Rhythm Society

Eligibility:

Nominees need not be members of the Heart Rhythm Society

Frequency:

One award; as appropriate


Distinguished Teacher Award

Purpose:

Recognition for an individual who has demonstrated outstanding skills as a teacher in the field of cardiac pacing and/or electrophysiology

Eligibility:

Nominees must be members of the Heart Rhythm Society

Frequency:

One award; given annually


Pioneer in Cardiac Pacing and Electrophysiology Award

Purpose:

Recognition for an individual who has been active in cardiac pacing and/or cardiac electrophysiology for many years, and has made significant contributions to the field

Eligibility:

Nominees need not be members of the Heart Rhythm Society

Frequency:

One award; given annually

Award Winners Receive:

  • Complimentary registration to Heart Rhythm 2012
  • Coach airfare for one to Heart Rhythm 2012
  • Hotel accommodations for the duration of Heart Rhythm 2012
  • Recognition in the Heart Rhythm 2012 official awards booklet
  • Presentation of award by colleague of recipient's choice
  • Award plaque
