titlelines 2009 Advanced Ablation Course Information

Advanced Ablation Educational Resources. In lieu of a live course in 2009, the Society has compiled a list of educational resources on the topic of ablation and featured them on the Advanced Ablation Course page. Find expert interviews and webcasts from previous Heart Rhythm Scientific Sessions covering the critical discussion areas concerning the ablation of heart rhythm disorders. The live course will resume in the fall of 2010.

2008 Advanced Ablation Course: Simplifying Complex Ablation with New Physiology-Based Techniques

Advanced Ablation Course Description

The Advanced Ablation Course provides an intensive update on new generation advanced catheter ablation for complex supraventricular and ventricular arrhythmias. The course addresses the evolving field of multimodality ablation for atrial fibrillation with in-depth discussions on new techniques and technologies, as well as the perils and pitfalls accompanying this intervention.  The ablation of more complex arrhythmias, such as scar-related atrial flutters and ventricular tachycardias, are covered in depth and include the latest pathophysiology concepts and technical approaches.

Advanced Ablation Target Audience

This course is of interest to:

  • Cardiac Electrophysiologists
  • Cardiology and Cardiac Electrophysiology Fellows
  • Cardiac Surgeons
  • Pediatric Electrophysiologists
  • Cardiologists
  • Radiologists
  • Physicians Assistants
  • Nurses

Advanced Ablation Program Format

The majority of the program is presented in a “case presentation” format to help the practitioner relate the experience of the faculty to his or her own procedures. The presentations target an advanced level of practice. Participants are encouraged to bring case presentations of their own for discussion and review.

The program has been designed for maximum clinical applicability. Several didactic sessions will bring together the many concepts needed for successful ablation. Multiple breakout sessions provide more one-on-one interaction with the faculty. An automated audience response system (ARS) will put the attendee in the middle of decision-making scenarios and provide immediate feedback. Overall, this provides a multimodality approach to learning the very latest in ablation techniques.
