Poster Specifications
Content
The poster display should specify the following information about the abstract:

  • Title
  • Author Block
  • Disclosure Block (All poster presentations are required to display the financial disclosure of all authors listed on the abstract. If the financial disclosure is not printed on the poster in the required location, one will be provided for you.)
  • Introduction/Hypothesis
  • Methods
  • Results
  • Conclusions
  • Images/Graphs/Tables (Presenters are not allowed to use the Heart Rhythm Society logo in their posters or presentations)

Color
The following color combinations provide the greatest amount of contrast:

  • Black text on white background
  • Dark blue on white
  • White on black
  • White on blue

Text/Design

  • Text Format: The poster presentation should be self-contained and not require any additional oral explanation to be understood by the attendees. Text should be brief and well organized, presenting only enough data to support your conclusions and logically display data. The text should make clear the significance of your research. A style using bullets tends to be the most effective format.
  • Size: The maximum size of each poster is 4 feet (48 inches) high by 8 feet (96 inches) wide. Do not exceed the height/width of the poster board and do not display the abstract on single 8½" X 11" sheets. (If presenters do not adhere to this requirement, they will not be allowed to present their poster.)
  • Arrangement of Text: A clear, simple, uncluttered arrangement is the most attractive and easiest to read.
  • Font Size: All lettering should be legible from a distance of approximately 6 feet. Type size should be at least 30 point or larger.
  • Images and Photos: Graphs and photos also need to be large enough to be seen clearly at 6 feet. Illustrations should be simple and eye-catching, with unnecessary detail left out.  Presenters are not allowed to use any Heart Rhythm Society logos or graphics on their posters/presentations.

Text/Design Suggestions: If possible, convert tables to graphic displays. Pie graphs can be used to show parts of a whole, line graphs can be used to show trends or changing relationships, and bar graphs can be used to show volumes. Avoid lengthy paragraphs and excessively complex tables.

Poster Session Information

  • Each poster session has a specific start and end time. Presenters are required to check in at the poster "Check-In" desk before they set-up their presentation.
  • Presenters are responsible for setting up and removing the poster and materials. Posters must be removed immediately after the session ending time. Presenters will not be allowed to remove posters before the session ends. Please see the table below for setup and removal times.
  • Presenters are required to be available for questions and answers at the assigned time (see schedule below). However, we recommend that you be present for the entire duration of the session.

Poster Check-in Requirements
All poster sessions are located in restricted areas of the convention center. The Heart Rhythm Society has arranged for Abstract Presenters to enter these restricted areas during the designated set-up time for that poster session only. Abstract Presenters must have their Poster Presentation Confirmation Page to enter the poster area and to check-in for presentations.
